Artist Statement

The artists at RejeanZ are working to help change the way people regard their rags. We believe that old worn jeans do not have to be discarded just because they are stained. Instead, they should be re-thought and re-purposed.

"As an artist with diverse interests and hobbies, it is nearly impossible for me to keep a pair of pants free from stains for more then a month. I do not have the discipline to dress for a project when inspirations sweeps through me. I go with the moment and, naturally, my jeans go too...into the paint, into the mud, into the mess! I needed a solution and created one: all my favorite jeans are reborn with brilliance and the messes are concealed!"

How does it work?

You send us your old jeans. We paint them, upcycle them for you. Then we send the jeans back to you, and you go rock the dance floor.

Colors are selected as complimentary to the jeans color and to your tastes. Thorough testing has led to purchase tough and enviromnentally friendly durable tints. The jeans are machine-washable, and look great for years.

Color Schemes

• Classic Palette
• reds, yellows, and black(occassionally with light blue) (striking look on faded jeans)
• Warm Palette
  • yellows, oranges, reds, and black
• Cool Palette
  • blues, purples, greens, and black

Splatter Schemes (see it)

• 1/2 Splatter - Splatter concentrated below the knees.
• Full Splatter - Splatter over entire pants.

About the artists

RejeanZ is the brainchild of reknown artist Sabrina Gaydos.

After moving to Maine a few years ago, Sabrina Gaydos felt inspiration from the land and people instantly, as though she connected with a similar soul. She graduated from Rutgers University with degree in Psychology & Art.

For this project, she assembled a group of fellow alumni and created the Rutgers Creative Group. Together, they review the color combinations that best match the jeans color, look for opportunities to give the jeans the Wow factor, and the amount of paint necessary to achieve the right look.

How to order

You fill out the form and pay $75 + shipping and handling

We send you a pre-paid shipping container with our address. You place your jeans in the container and send it back to us.

After we process your jeans, you'll receive you upcycled pair in 2-4 weeks.
